Focusing on what matters: Andrea’s journey to growing The Hive with intention

When you’re driven by big ideas and a passion for community, it can be easy to lose sight of what matters most.

Andrea Hattan, founder of The Hive Wichita, is a community builder at heart. She created The Hive to be a sanctuary for authentic connection—a space where women feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow both personally and professionally. In addition to running The Hive, Andrea manages local Airbnb properties and offers marketing consulting to businesses in Wichita, Kansas.

Despite her vision and energy, Andrea struggled to follow through on important tasks. It wasn’t that she didn’t care—things simply became out of sight, out of mind amidst her full and busy life. She also loved chasing shiny new ideas, which often left her feeling scattered and overwhelmed.

How we worked together

Andrea and I worked together in two powerful ways: weekly accountability coaching and refining her VIP Day client offering.

In our weekly sessions, we:

  • Thought through her current workload and commitments

  • Prioritized tasks to ensure her time and energy were spent on what mattered most

  • Strategically evaluated new ideas, filtering out her best and brightest so she could pursue them with intention

  • Planned events to strengthen and grow The Hive community, aligning each initiative with her mission and goals

  • Created space to think critically about her business, giving her the clarity and confidence to move forward without second-guessing

When Andrea wanted to create a VIP Day experience for her clients, we worked together to:

  • Clarify her VIP Day process so it felt organized and manageable

  • Break down each step to identify where clients might feel overwhelmed and address it proactively

  • Ensure her communication throughout the process highlighted the value of the experience and kept clients comfortable and confident from start to finish

As Andrea shared:

“Working with Courtney on my VIP Day experience was wonderful. She really helped me achieve three goals: get my VIP Day organized, get it done and launched (not just in my head), and make sure I was communicating to clients throughout the entire process about the value they were getting out of the experience.

Being a visionary and knowing that I can deliver the service is one thing, but creating the best customer experience is where Courtney helped me refine my VIP Day. I would highly recommend working with her on your VIP Day!”

The impact

Since working together, Andrea has:

✨ Become more consistent in following through on key priorities
✨ Gained clarity on which ideas to pursue and which to set aside
✨ Strengthened The Hive community by planning meaningful events that foster authentic connection

Moving forward with clarity and confidence

Today, Andrea continues to grow The Hive as a nurturing, trauma-aware space for women in Wichita while confidently managing her other businesses. With weekly support and strategic partnership, she’s able to keep her vision front and center—and turn it into a reality, one intentional step at a time.
